Peregrine Ridge has won the trophy for the Best Sparkling Wine at the 2015 Heathcote Wine Show.
The winning wine was the 2006 Winemaker’s Reserve Sparkling Shiraz Late Disgorge which recently won gold and trophy for the Best Sparkling Red at the Australian Sparkling Wine Show. It is elegant, silky, fruit driven and balanced, and the perfect accompaniment to terrine, pate, duck and game meats.
The bouquet is a seductive amalgam of raspberries, cherries, plums and blackberries with a hint of yeast and spice. A finely textured palate follows, dominated by lifted raspberries, cherries and plums.
This wine was matured in 100% new French oak for 18 months and then bottle fermented for a further 81 months. The extended time on lees delivers a fine, persistent bead and creamy mousse.
